Thirsty!
beer, water and elixir
Everyone drinks. For centuries. There are, however, differences as to what people drank the most. And what was socially accepted. Beer was one of the only affordable and healthiest drinks in the Middle Ages. Everyone drank it, even babies. But then exotic drinks came on the market. Discover the history of the drink through an old port area, the Cadix district.

Concrete in northern Antwerp
From the MAS to the Port House
A classic: from the Museum at the Stream to the new office building for the port, the Port House. If possible, the buildings will be entered. There is also a lot to see along the way, from a concrete ship to a brewery in an old pump house.

South to New
new squares and new neighborhoods
We start this tour at the Law Courts, the gateway to the south. We discover more about the 19th century district and the very newest part: New South. We end up at the muted southern docks, there was once plenty of port activity here, now it’s a lively museum district.

Warehouses & Greenery
From the Eilandje to Park Spoor Noord
During this tour we start at the urban development pavilion under the MAS, with some explanation how the city and this neighborhood grew and were developed. The warehouses in the neighborhood tell stories about the old port. After we have crossed the Leien (maybe with a special bridge?) we arrive at a completely different terrain. Contemporary architecture is combined with greenery and hiking trails.
